Disney is introducing a new way to skip the lines with the debut of the Lightning Lane Premier Pass at Walt Disney World and Disneyland. Starting soon, guests will have the option to breeze through Lightning Lane attractions at both parks without the need for advance reservations—just show up and ride.

The Premier Pass joins the existing lineup of line-skipping options, including the Lightning Lane Multi Pass and Single Pass, and is designed for those seeking maximum convenience. However, this new perk won’t come cheap.

The introduction of this pass is a response to guest feedback since the launch of Genie+ during the pandemic. While it aims to enhance the guest experience, it may not be for everyone.

Here’s what you need to know about the new pilot program, which will have different implementations at Disney World and Disneyland.

The Lightning Lane Premier Pass offers guests a streamlined way to enjoy the most popular attractions at both Walt Disney World and Disneyland. Here’s what’s included:

  •  Access to All Lightning Lane Attractions: The pass covers every attraction currently available under the Lightning Lane Multi Pass and Single Pass options, which were formerly known as Genie+ and Individual Lightning Lanes. Guests can skip the lines at these attractions without needing to make advance reservations.

  • One-Time Entry Per Attraction: Guests can use the Premier Pass to access each applicable attraction once per day, allowing them to enjoy a full lineup of rides without waiting in long queues.

  •  Complimentary PhotoPass Downloads: The pass also includes PhotoPass downloads for the day, so guests can keep all their favorite memories captured by Disney photographers without extra charges.
